When did you start working for AHS?
I have been with AHS since August 2018. I have been working in the travel staffing industry since 1999.
What do you like most about your job?
I love working with people and placing them all over the U.S. I often ask for photos from my travelers. I feel like I can live vicariously through them and it’s so exciting to see the things they get to see. On a personal level I love the flexibility this job offers me to juggle home/work/family time. I can be available for all the people in my life who need me, my kids and my travelers. And I love the culture of AHS!
What type of certifications/specialties do you work with?
Nursing (RN), Respiratory (RRT/CRT), Laboratory (MT/MLT, Histo Tech), and CST/OR Techs.
What are some of your hobbies?
I love spring and summer outdoor gardening and generally filling my living area with beautiful plants and flowers. As my kids are growing up and leaving home I’m finding that I love to travel and take short trips away from home to relax and unwind.
What are three interesting facts about you?
I have 3 sons and 2 step-sons I lived in Brooklyn NY for 14 years before moving back to my home state of Ohio I’m an LGBTQ+ ally & supporter
Who’s your favorite band/singer?
If I had to choose one, these days it would be John Prine or Chris Stapleton…..but honestly who can choose. John Denver, James Taylor, Neil Diamond, The Eagles, Journey, Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Bread. Do any of you reading this even know who these people are?
How would you describe your personality?
I am an extroverted introvert! I am actually super shy (or I used to be) but I have learned now to fill the voids because I can’t stand the awkward silences. Now I talk too much, but I’m still super shy internally.
Who is someone that inspires you, and why?
The underdog who keeps going no matter the odds! No matter where you finish in the race, keep pushing to be the best YOU you can be. I love a good story about people who persevere through adversity and reach the goals.
